Kratom tincture is a prevalent form of kratom mainly because of how effective it is in delivering the amazing benefits you can get from the kratom plant. If kratom is extracted through tincture, it may give you a real level of its properties compared to other kratom forms. This kratom tincture guide can help you in creating your tincture.

Why Take Kratom Tincture?

The most popular reason for taking kratom tincture compared to other forms is because of how concentrated tinctures are. The more concentrated product is, the more potent it is. The same goes for kratom tinctures. Compared to its powder form, it has stronger effects. But, aside from that, here are some of the benefits you can get from kratom tinctures:

  • Faster and easier to ingest
  • Requires minimal to no preparations or measuring at all
  • You can drink water right after to remove the bitter taste
  • Onset of its effects is faster than other forms
  • No issues with digestion or upset stomach
  • Stronger mental or physical effects
  • Can be used anywhere and anytime

One disadvantage of kratom tincture is its price in the market. Because of how potent and strong the tincture form is, it’s more expensive compared to other kratom forms. Fortunately, this guide will help you create a kratom tincture at home! Here are the ingredients you need in making your very own kratom tincture:

  • Citric Acid
  • Ethanol/Water mix (Plain 80-100 proof alcohol)
  • Dark amber tincture bottle
  • pH Strips
  • Glass container (sealable)
  • Fine strainer or cheesecloth
  • Kratom strain you prefer (at least 4 ounces)

NOTE: You need to be mindful about the plain kratom leaf you will use to create the tincture as it shows in the extract you’ll create. So, before starting your tincture creation process, think about what effects you want to get and then decide the variety or kratom strain perfect for it.

Kratom Tincture Procedure

Step 1: Submerge Kratom Strain in Alcohol-Water Solution

The first thing you need is to get a high-quality kratom ( a strain of your choice) and put it in the sealable glass container filled with the ethanol/water mixture. The ratio should be 1-liter alcohol/water solution to 8 ounces of kratom. So if you’re starting with 4 ounces of kratom, it needs to be submerged in 0.5 liters of alcohol/water solution.

Step 2: Add Citric Acid

Add the citric acid into the sealable glass container filled with the kratom strain and solution. The purpose of this step is to make the alkaloids turn into salt form, which helps extract and preserve it.

Step 3: Check the pH Level

Using the pH strips, make sure you have enough citric acid that will make the pH level drops to below 4. If it’s too acidic, dilute the solution to lower the level of acidity. By doing so, this will lessen the risk of having acid attacks.

Step 4: Seal and Shake

Seal the sealable glass container and then shake it for a few minutes. Then, place the solution in a dark area and leave it for about a week to ensure the alkaloids are fully extracted. At this point, all you need to do is wait.

Step 5: Check the Solution

After a week, check the solution again and strain the alcohol-water alkaloid saturated liquid using a fine strainer or cheesecloth. Unlike the tea form, the remaining leaf products can be thrown away.

Step 6: Finishing Touches

Take the extracted liquid and then place it in a glass container and let half of the solution evaporated. Once half of the liquid evaporates, the tincture is complete! Store your kratom tincture in a cool and dark place or inside the refrigerator. Ensure that the container is properly sealed.

NOTE: The tincture formula provided will give you a standard full kratom tincture spectrum.
